Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency: First Post (First Impressions)
Apparently I felt the need for some absurdity in my life right now.
Anyway, I like this book. I particularly like the electric monk. He always makes me laugh, especially with his beliefs about tables being hermaphrodites and everything being pink. I do always think of when my friend used the monk passage for Forensics in high school, but it makes me laugh on its own too. Adams is just such a brilliant writer. He knew just how to string words together so that they would be as absurdly funny as possible. I may have to work on reading more of his books after this one. They’re always so much fun!
