I love that Reg has a heart. He broke his own rule about changing history simply because a little girl wanted the world to be a wonderful, interesting place and all around her stuff old dons refused to let her see it as so. But he won’t allow himself to be happy. It’s almost as though he wants to punish himself or something. It’s very odd.
What is the time machine and how does it work? Reg hooks up his abacus up to it and it takes him whenever he wants to go, but how does it work? Where did he get it? When did he get it? Does it move around with him or can he only time travel from his own rooms? Where was it before they were his rooms? Before they were built? How it it that he is so old? Who is he anyway? It’s all very odd!
