How the Wizard Came to Oz: First Post (First Impressions)
The beginning of this book was a little slow, but as soon as Oscar finally got to Oz it picked up imediately. The story has been fairly sparse thus far, but also consistant with what we know from previous books (mostly The Wonderful Wizard of Oz). The geography, names and colors have all matched, and the wizard’s relationship with the wicked witch of the west is beginning to make sense. Their encounter was funny, but also had a real edge of danger to it. I hope that the author can keep that tone going, since it is very appropriate, and very Ozian, but slightly tricky. So far, so good!
