The Amazing Zonk Wizardry: Sixth Post (Mary-Sue?)
I really don’t like Ronald at all. He’s arrogant and self-centered. The computer is almost insulting. I actually kind of dislike Dawn. She’s such a fawning fangirl. What does she really find interesting? Who is she? She must have more to her than just father-loyalty and worshiping Ronald in a ridiculous, almost all-consuming way! It’s crazy how underdeveloped she and Boicheck are as characters (and what the hell kind of a name is “Boicheck” anyway?). They simply seem to exist to be adoring support characters to Ronald’s story. Hoochie seems to have been the same, actually, she just got more face time because her story happened before Ronald was born and stole the spotlight. Ronald actually feels very much like a Mary-Sue character. I wonder if that’s more or less what he is?
