Lingerie: Fifth Post (Corset Misconceptions)
Bardey gives the modern impression that corsets make one’s breasts stand out, but the historical corsets she spends the entire chapter discussing all flatten one’s breasts and she never says that at all! It’s annoying. In general the chapter is good, although better pictures of pre-Victorian corsets would have been nice. Nearly all the pictures were Victorian, but the text moved logically through time. It was weird and annoying.
