Poor Okonkwo! His death is so stupid and so sad. I really wonder what went through his head between when he killed the messenger and when he killed himself. Did he have any regrets? Was he just trying to escape what he viewed as the death of his way of life? Could he just not take it any more? Was he afraid? Or did he just fall apart?
