The Essays: Third Post (Fable)
I found the observations and conjectures about Bacon’s reference to Aesop’s fable of the cat-woman kind of interesting. The writer suggested that perhaps Bacon deliberately changed the fable because of the implied sexual connotations. Why would Bacon have been so uneasy about sex that he would change a story already that innocent? He certainly was squeamish if he was!
