Be My Valentine, Amelia Bedelia: Thoughts
This could have been a really cute addition to the Amelia Bedelia classics, but it just isn’t very funny. The concept is really cute, but the execution is sorely lacking. The pictures are as cute as ever, although Amelia Bedelia looks very out of place among the very modernly dressed people she meets. Her very old fashioned maid’s uniform and bonnet just aren’t very twenty-first century. This book just didn’t click well. It could have been adorable and funny, but it wasn’t. I was sorely disappointed by it.
