Amelia Bedelia Under Construction: Thoughts
This isn’t a particularly good Amelia Bedelia title or a very good beginning reader. The story is too silly, even for Amelia Bedelia. It just felt kind of stupid. And I was annoyed at how dumb everyone was. Just because Amelia Bedelia takes everything literally doesn’t mean everyone around needs to be a moron to make that possible. That’s just lazy writing. The book felt long and packed full of text with no breaks - very hard for a beginning reader. Chapters or breaks of some kind would have been nice. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this one.
