Must all virtuous women in Norse mythology have crappy lives (and, really, they’re all pretty virtuous)? Poor Aslaug was kept in a harp and not allowed to speak, then her uncle was murdered so she ended up being raised by random evil peasants (his murderers) who think she’s dumb and darken her skin and hair to make her look less like a noblewoman.
