Cricket 34/11: Thoughts
This was a good issue of Cricket. My favorite piece from it was the conclusion of “Long Meg” and the extremely interesting historical note after it. There was a (possible) time-travel story followed by an absolutely fascinating note about light and time and special relativity. The issue started with a fun, quirky story about a girl protecting her siblings from a panther. It was funny and homey. That same feeling, in a far less daring package, ended the issue proper in a story about a dog who was jealous of a mouth organ and stole it. The issue actually ended with a fascinating note about the calendar from Old Cricket. I also really liked the story “The Tanuki-Kettle” and thought the piece “The Star Spangled Banner” was really interesting and well done. This was definitely a good issue of Cricket!
