The Storyteller: Greek Myths: “Theseus and the Minotaur” (1991): Thoughts
Wow, this really played up what a total jerk Theseus was. He’s usually portrayed as the shiny hero who selflessly saves Athens and the part where he abandoned the woman who helped him is generally glossed over. This version kind of dwelled on his selfishness and cruelty, though. I don’t have a problem with that (I’ve never been a big fan of Theseus), but I do wonder why that particular choice was made, since it is so unusual.
