I made some new friends at my new school through a shared prank. This was a great ending to finish this book on! I enjoyed reading this book much more than I thought I would. I was also pleasantly surprised that I was able to read my character as a girl all the way through! That was awesome!

I got to a school that teaches kung fu, but it didn’t always work out. I did end up receiving training in several endings (once from a celebrated master and once by returning home as well as from the school itself), but I also died by falling off a roof once and got myself expelled once.

I found yet another ending where I helped the bandits and got official recognition from the government. I also got myself killed and baked into dumplings by the evil innkeepers (hello Sweeney Todd yet again!). After that, I spent some time lost in the woods and met a snake spirit. That never turned out well even though the spirit seemed pretty nice, but I didn’t die either.

I joined the outlaws and earned acclaim and honor as an army page twice. I also found more ways to die and an ending where I was convicted of helping an innkeeper and his wife will people and turn their bodies into dumplings and fertilizer. It was a random Sweeney Todd ending out of the blue!

Hm… I’m not doing very well here. I’ve gotten my mother killed and made an invalid for the rest of her life and captured by bandits. I’ve also gotten myself killed quite a few times! The snake was totally a no-win situation, though, which sucks. The Black Serpents are serious cheaters!

I really like the woman I got to be my teacher, but some of her friends are definitely not to be trusted! I hope that I get to learn more about each one of them, though, since they all seem interesting. At this point, I’ve learned at least a little about everyone except for Lim Likjau.

What just happened? How did I turn into a zombie? Are my parents evil and creating zombies with herbs and tea or was I scratched by a zombie cat? Either way, this is very weird. Seriously, this had better be explained somewhere in this book! I have to admit, though, that ending definitely did surprise me!

I’ve finished this book now and I really enjoyed it. I counted the last ending as a capture, but I’m not sure that’s the best classification, since I chose to stay. I found one ending where I was trapped in the fairy court for what seemed like one night but turned out to be fifty years. It was a great, classic fairy story trope!

This time it turned out that I was the fairy king and queen’s own child (still gender neutral!). Apparently I had been changed for a changeling as a baby and grew up human. So I had to battle Puck with riddles for command of the fairy army and I ended up with a very interesting bunch of endings! The book seems most rewarding if you read the whole thing.

I didn’t expect to encounter a changeling baby! The different possible results from helping it were interesting. I was surprised that it turned out to be the goblin king at one point! The red cap is scary and I wonder if I can escape from it!
